Carpeting
Carpet remains a popular
flooring choice for new homes for years. Carpet
flooring is composed of two layers - the upper
layer is known as the face pile, and the bottom
layer is known as backing. Heavier the weight
of the face pile the more durable and expensive
the carpet will be. There are several advantages
to carpet. Carpet is comfortable to walk on,
warm and often the least expensive of all
flooring options. It is available in wide
range of colors, textures, styles, & designs.
There are also disadvantages. Carpeting can
hold moisture, stains easily, and collects
dirt, hair and dander. Carpeting is not as
durable as other materials. Some of the popular
carpeting styles, you can choose from Berber,
Saxony, Frieze, Velvet, Textured and Sculptured.

padding; be wary of carpet prices that
include free padding. Ask about upgrades;
a better pad extends the life of your
carpet. |
