Ceramic
tile & terra cotta Ceramic
tile is the final common flooring
choice. Ceramic tile is a natural product,
which is made of clay, minerals and water
designed and formed into shapes. Strength
of the tile is determined by its thickness
and structure. Today it is available in a
wide range of colors, shapes, sizes and textures.
Larger tiles, strips and borders are being
used more frequently. Advantages of ceramic
tiles are, they are extremely, easy to clean,
resistant to scratching, fire and water resistant,
they make excellent kitchen and bathroom floors.
Disadvantages are that they can be easily
stained by juice and food. Scratches can occur
on the surface of the tile. Furniture footing
can be affected by the unevenness of a tile
floor. Tile is also relatively expensive,
noisy, cold and hard on barefoot.
