Laminate--Strip &
tile
Laminate material is constructed
by combining two or more layers of materials
together. To create the laminate we have to
do the process lamination , which usually
refers to sandwiching something between layers
of plastic and sealing them with heat and/or
pressure. Laminators types:
Three types of laminators are used in digital
imaging:
- Pouch laminators
- Heated roll laminators
- Cold roll laminators
Film types There
are five categories of laminate film:
- Standard thermal laminating films
- Low-temperature thermal laminating films
- Heatset laminating films
- Pressure-sensitive films
- Liquid laminates
Laminated floors are becoming increasingly
popular and are an innovative, easy and cost
effective flooring solution. Laminate flooring
is often called as "Pergo" flooring,
one of the pioneer of laminate manufacturing.
It is popular in Europe as well as in America
as it allows one to recreate the look of real
hardwood flooring and it is available in a
variety of designs. Laminate floorings are
also quite cost effective. The surface is
actually a plastic composition that is applied
to the core using heat and pressure. The core
is usually made of high-density fiber or particleboard,
and the backing can be a paper, or another
layer of laminate. Advantages of laminate
flooring are that they are extremely durable,
stain and fade resistant, looks like wood,
stone or ceramic tiles and are inexpensive
and cheap to install. However, they cannot
be refinished or recoated once they are scratched
or worn, looks a bit unnatural and it can
be cold and noisy.
